Welcome!

I have over 30 years experience of research specialising in North Staffordshire. I am a native of the area and have lived and worked in the area for over 40 years. I have a good knowledge of local government and the health service in the area having been a local authority member in Stoke and Staffordshire for 13 years. I have just completed a report on the Green economy for Keele University Project Green programme.

I am a history graduate and I have a post graduate teaching qualification and creative writing qualifications from Keele University. I have also carried out an oral history of Port Vale Football Club and I have been a member of Stoke on Trent Archaeological Society. I have used extensively local archives in Staffordshire.

It was in the William Salt Library that I discovered an account of an ancestor of mine who was involved in a 1841 murder

I have written extensively for the local media and occasional for the national media.

I began to do the “Shriek in Leek” ghost walk in 2005 and it has proved to be an enjoyable enteprise

I have been on Mastermind twice and reached the semi final of Brain of Britain and University Challenge when I captained the York team.
